So What is the big deal. "QB Al" is worth the Money

Everyone is going nutz over the size of the contract that "QB Al" got with the Angels. (QB Al = "Quarter Billion Albert") What is the big deal? Is there anyone out there that thinks QB Al is not worth what A-Rod was worth when he signed his quarter billion dollar contract? Look at the numbers, "QB Al" is on pace with all of A-Rod's numbers, and in fact, he is ahead of the pace on several others. Clearly, the Angels came out of nowhere with the money (..not exactly the buy anyone Yankees.) But look at it this way, the Angels are trying to push the Dodgers out as LA's team. Every time the Dodgers have major issues, the Angels pull the trigger to put themselves into the spotlight. Now with the financial troubles of the Dodgers, the Angels have taken the ball and are running with it.... And QB Al is just the guy to carry them to the promise land. Is that promise land a World Series?????? No, it is being LA's TEAM!!!! Move over Dodgers, QB AL is in town!!! Just my opinion!!

what a dumbass contract. he's past his prime. he might have a few good years, but without the roids or hgh, by the time he is 35-36 this will start to look like a bad deal for the angels. hopefully they win a title before then.

you are supposed to pay someone for what they are going to do in the future, not for what they have done in the past. cards get off easy. the angels are paying him for carrying 2 very average cardinal teams to world series championships.

Totally agree. I think their angle is: If he is close to the HR record in year 7 or 8 then he will still pack the hourse for that event. Still, don't like the contract for a 30+ year old player. Not good business sense.
