So who is Better?

Pujols or Mauer, given all the intangibles. Position, league, etc

its a lot closer than people think

mauer plays a tougher defensive position and is pretty close every bit the hitter

heard on espn radio last night he took a heater from verlander around his ear...

pulled it...hard enough to get a double down the line.....dont know who else can do that

Hard to argue with Pujols offensively but when you add in defense Mauer makes it a lot closer. If Mauer can grow on his power numbers this season think he can overtake him but until I see Mauer consistently stay off the DL and hit for power have to go with Pujols.

a buddy of mine....sent me an article a couple of months ago, that said that the Redsox will spend any amount of money on Pujols. any!!!! broke it all down and stuff, but i highly doubt that the Cardinals would ever want him playing anywhere else

every team would unload for pujols, but him leaving STL is just bad for baseball. It's like Lebron leaving Cle, it's bad for basketball.

let me clarify

pujols is one of the best players ever, he is only 29, prob has more than a few MVPs left to win. he will go down as a top 3 player ever. for my money he is better than Arod.

But with Mauer he does what he does while catching. I just really like Mauer. More I'm jealous that Pujols outshines Howard maybe lol

both are so unique and good. baseball is back

Unfortunately he'll catch for the first 10 years tho

that wear on his body will keep him from performing at the same level later in his career, even if he moves to 1B or DH

just my opinion, would be same if pujols was a catcher, or ted williams, or anyone

Pujols - not that close really. Mauer great player though

WCI - Pujols will play entire career in St Louis. No chance him playing in Boston. In fact might be better odds of Mangini spending Thanksgiving at Belichick's house tomorrow.
