Sunday's Plays--A Two-Fer !!

first the re-cap. Won my monster play yesterday on the over in the Angels/Twins. An easy winner. That was my largest play this season and I am glad I could come through. Hopefully I am back on track now. I have 2 I like for Sunday, so let's get to it.

First, I like the over 9 runs in the Astros/Mets. You guys probably expected this one from me. The Mets start Livan Hernandez. Check out these LMAO numbers he has. For the year his ERA is "only" 4.93 with a 1.54 WHIP and a .305 batting average against. On the road his ERA is 5.04. In July his ERA is 10.93, his WHIP is OVER 2.500 and his batting average against is .413 (I'm not kidding--go look). In 14 innings this month he has allowed 26 hits and 10 walks with only 7 strikeouts. In the last 3 years, his ERA against Houston is 7.11 and his batting average against is .391. At Minute Maid over the past 3 years his ERA is 10.80, his WHIP is 2.500 and his batting average against is .451. Wow. He MUST have pictures of Omar Minaya doing a sheep, because there is no other explanation as to why he is still on this team.

Meanwhile the Astros start Brian Moehler. His ERA on the year is "only" 4.92, with a 1.47 WHIP and a .288 batting average against. At home his ERA is 5.09 and his batting average against is .309. Over the past 3 years he is 0-3 against the Mets with a 6.40 ERA and a .302 batting average against. He has good numbers for July (3-1 with a 2.16 ERA and a .215 baa) but look who he played against. The sad-sacks of the NL (Padres, Pirates, Nats and the only decent team, the Cards). Moehler sucks. Always has. Always will.

This one goes over the total of 9 runs today.

My second play is a juicy one, but it won't matter when it hits. I really like the Phils -160 to the Cards. Here's why:

Joe Blanton goes for the Phils. He is 6-4 with a 4.24 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP and a .265 batting average against. He is 1-0 against the Cards this year with a 1.50 ERA and a .174 batting average against. Check out his July numbers. He is 2-0 for the month, with a 0.83 ERA and a .176 batting average against. In 21.2 innings this month, he allowed only 13 hits and 4 walks, with 16 strikeouts. Yowza, yowza, yowza.

Meanwhile the Cards go with Todd Wellemeyer. I bet you guys didn't know how bad he really sucks. For the year he is 7-8 with a 5.68 ERA, a 1.73 WHIP and a .320 batting average against. Those are his numbers for the ENTIRE SEASON !! On the road his ERA is 6.14 and his batting average against is .350. In July he is 1-1 with an ERA of "only" 5.63 and a batting average against of .338. Over the past 3 years he is 0-1 against the Phils with a 7.30 ERA. He will get blasted today by the Phillies.

Sunday's plays are over 9 in the Astros/Mets and the Phillies -160 to the Cardinals.

Yea saw this one coming. You are recognized as the chairman of the M.H.C. The Moehler Hater Club is headquartered in Long Island and is currently seeking members! Club rules state that you either take the over in every game he pitches or fade the Stros! Gold members play both straight up and in a parlay!

LOL--I do hate that f*cker. Guy is a cheater AND he sucks. Look at the teams he is winning against. I'm not saying the Mets are anything special (they're not), but they will get to him. And as for Hernandez, well..........I take that as a given.
