Thursday's Play--One Last Regular Season Biggie (I Like It ALOT) !!

haven't posted baseball plays in about 10 days or so. This one jumped out at me big time this morning.

But before I get to it, I wanted to re-cap the season. Total season record (all games, including the crappy 6-11 start) was 75-72. The record on the "I Like It ALOT" plays was 13-10. Just to address the "units" discussion. Yes, I only kept a win-loss record. You guys who followed me know that most of my plays were either totals, dogs or small faves (-130 or less). While I did not specifically label any plays as my GOY or GOM, I had a few that I indicated that I liked that much. Pretty sure all of those were winners. Here's the thing. All my plays were 1 unit. If I had played the bigger plays for more than 1 unit (as most people do), I believe I'd have ended up plus a substantial amount on the year. As it is, if you played every single one of my plays for the same amount, there is no doubt in my mind you ended up plus for the season .

Now...let's get to it. I REALLY like the A's -120 to the Mariners tonight. Here's why:

The A's start Brett Anderson. He is 11-10 on the year with a 4.12 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP and a .262 batting average against. This guy has been on fire for awhile now. In his last 3 starts he went 18.2 innings, allowing 15 hits and 1 walk with 20 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.50. For the entire month of September he was 4-0 with a 2.28 ERA and a .247 batting average against. The M's, who are second worst in the AL against lefties (batting .254 against them) will not touch Anderson tonight.

Meanwhile, the M's start Doug Fister ("Fister....I barely even knew her !!"), who is 2-4 on the year with a 4.50 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP and a .271 batting average against. He started out strong, but has since settled into mediocrity. In his last 3 starts he went 15.1 innings allowing 26 hits and 3 walks, with a 9.00 ERA and a 1.920 WHIP. For the month of September, he was 1-3 with a 5.53 ERA and a .319 batting average against. Fister gets fisted tonight.

Thursday's "let's close out the year in style with an I Like It ALOT" play is the A's -120.

Last but not least. Just wanted to thank all the guys who supported me throughout the season. As always, I do appreciate the kind words. Hope you guys made some coin with my picks this season.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

thanks Pope. Traditionally though, you should wait until AFTER the play is over (and hopefully wins) to thank me. LOL

First off I want to say "Thanks" for another profit making year in baseball pal, but damn I glad it's over man !! Made some big bets with your "Alot" plays and it paid off. I missed one and went the other way on one (which I'll never do again cause I lost the damn thing !!) So let's close this muther with a winner tonight !! I have to admit I was looking for a "Total" from ya but if your calling this side and its alot play, then I'am banging those damn A's Good luck man,
