Trade Rumor: Cubs/Padres

Any truth to this rumor?

Cubs sending D. Lee and prospects to the Padres for Clayton Richards and Adrian Gonzalez.........

heard it from a "source"....

they better be real good prospects...since richard was the main prospect in the peavy deal. and adrian is a better hitter with a cheaper contract. trade doesnt make much sense

That would be outstanding! Not sure why SD would make that deal though.

AG is going to go, sooner or later and Lee has just one year left on his contract. Cubs have some decent prospects in the system, better than what the W Sox sent for Jake, so it is doable, if true.

Would be nice to have the second best 1st baseman on the Northside

lol the trade is not about money as far as the 1 year left.

Adrian has TWO years left at BASEMENT prices. this is about them not being able to re-sign him and they want the best prospects available. right now that looks to be the sox with either pitchers and ellisbury or someone else

If the cubs are sending lee with minor leaguers there is no doubt in my mind there going to be Vitters and Castro! If the Padres take anything less there idiots! They should take the redsox up on there offer it would be smarter move!

If it is not about $$$, SD should keep him and pay him his $15M long term he will get.

Oh, they can't sign him because they don't want to pay the $$$..

so, you're right..it doesn't have anything to do with money

you're such a ****in moron

they arent trading him now to unload a contract, which is what you implied by saying Lee only has 1 year left on his deal

yea that makes a lot of ****in sense. trade for a worse 1b who gets paid more...so smart

More than once you have stated I am a fakin moron..auch a putz you are

Don't say what I implied unless you know..I said Lee had just one year left on his deal, meaning they wouldn't be tied down to any kind of a long commitment. That would give them time to have someone in their system to move on up, or make another deal that would include a young first basemen. Plus, I am sure the Cubs wqould offset the money difference as part of the deal

Dickhead that you are
