Tuesday's Play--It's an "I Like It ALOT" Play !!

first the re-cap. Had 2 dogs yesterday. Won with the Rays at +120, and took a real tough loss with the Giants (at +150) on a grand slam in the 14th. Still made $$$ on the day however. I am going to be away on vacation with the family starting tomorrow, so this is it until next week. And I intend to go out with a bang. I'm 11-7 on the "I Like It ALOT" plays this year. Let's get us # 12 tonight.

Tuesday's "I Like It ALOT" play is over 9.5 in the Dodgers/Rockies. Here's why:

First of all, it opened at over 9 -115, and is now up to 9.5. Always a good sign.

The Rockies start Jason Hammel. They'd be better off with Dorothy Hamill ! On the year he is 8-7 with a 4.54 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP and a .310 batting average against. In his last 3 starts, he has allowed 20 hits and 6 walks in 16 innings. For the month of August he is 3-1 with a 3.97 ERA but a .319 batting average against. Since the All-Star break he is 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA, a .333 batting average against and a 1.647 WHIP. Here's the best part. At Coors Field this year he is 2-3 with a pathetic 7.02 ERA and a .379 batting average against. In 50 innings at home, he has allowed 85 hits and 11 walks for a WHIP of 1.920. As the Scooter would say..."holy cow" !!

Meanwhile, the Dodgers start Clayton Kershaw. He appears to have good numbers but wait til you see what I found. On the year he is 8-7 with a 2.96 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP and a .205 batting average against. On the road he is 5-4 with a 4.12 ERA. In his last 3 starts he allowed 13 hits and 9 walks in 15 innings. Ahhhh...the walks. He is second in the NL in walks with 80. That works for us, because the Rockies have the most walks in the NL with 515. But here's where it gets good. Against the Rocks in '09, he is 1-1 with a 6.89 ERA. At Coors this year his ERA is 10.13, his WHIP is 1.960 and his batting average against is .316. In '08 he was 1-2 against the Rocks with a 5.14 ERA and a .339 batting average against. At Coors in '08 he was 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA, a 2.111 WHIP and a .368 batting average against. Think Mr. Rikshaw like to pitch at Coors Field ???

Oh, and last but not least, 5 times these teams have met at Coors Field this year. 4 of them went over the total. This one will too !

Season is winding down. And once foots gets cooking, I am more focused on that than I am for bases.

we could get a rain delay. depends on when it happens, could knock the starters out early. supposed to be stormy all night.
