Twins and Mauer close to announcing 10 year extension

Being reported locally

Few details to be worked out, but appears agreement in place

Would have been a PR nightmare to not have him extended before entering new stadium this year

Heard Brett Favre might be at the back end of the Twins rotation this year

Funny I heard Blyleven was coming back as well to help with his HOF snubbing

All joking aside Mauer should stay in Minny forever

I'm glad he stays away from the skankees. But 10 years with a catcher is dangerous.

I think they might try him out at 2nd base down the road similar to what the Astros did with Biggio to save his knees.

on a personal note I would give him 8 years 200 mil

10 years takes him to 37 and he will be a 25mil a year DH at that point

Cant imagine the Twins paying anyone 25 million per. I can see him getting something along the lines of 10 for 150 maybe.

If he wants the 8 for 200 he needs to go to New York.

Anyone see or hear any prelim figures on this?

PEACE
