Two For Tuesday--The Train Is Picking Up Steam Once Again

well, after going 14-5-1 with my previous 20 posted plays, I took Sunday off after losing 3 in a row. We started the new streak yesterday with the Nationals. So, we stand at 1-0 for Streak #2. And speaking of 2, for Tuesday, I like 2 plays alot.

First, I really like the Angels at pick 'em against the Indians. First and foremost, the Angels are a MUCH better team. They start a rookie making his major league debut (Ervin Santana). But, this hard-throwing righty has very good numbers in the minors. The 22-year-old was 2-1 in eight starts with Arkansas last season and went 10-2 while leading the California League with a 2.53 ERA and a .212 opponents' batting average at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga in 2003. Santana was 5-1 with a 2.31 ERA in seven starts at Arkansas this year.

What makes this pick even more attractive, is the fact that the Indians are starting Scott Elarton. He is 0 and 2 on the year with an ERA of 7.47. In 31 innings, he has allowed 41 hits and 12 walks (53 men on base in 31 innings !!!) His career record vs. the Angels is 0-1 with an ERA of 9.00. This guy sucks big time ! If this kid Santana wasn't making his major league debut, this game would be a GOY-type of game for me. I LOVE the Angels tonight, and at pick 'em, it is a VERY strong play for me.

For my second pick, I'm gonna continue to ride the red-hot Nationals at -135 to the Brewers. The Nats have won 3 in a row, while the slumping Brewers have lost 3 in a row. The Nats start Claudio Vargas who is making only his second start of the season. In his first start, he went 6 innings and did not give up an earned run. In his career he is 11 and 13 with an ERA of 4.68.

The Brewers send Wes Obermuller to the mound who sports a deceptive ERA of 3.72. Why is it deceptive you ask ? Well, after starting the season in the bullpen, he is making only his third start of the season. For the season, he may sport only a 3.72 ERA, BUT he has pitched 19.1 innings allowing, get this, 24 hits and 9 walks (how is this guy's ERA ONLY 3.72 ???). In his 2 starts, he has gone only 8 innings, allowing 10 hits and 5 walks, with an ERA of 6.75. The red-hot Nats are gonna slap Mr. Obermuller around tonight.

Good luck if you play 'em.

in fact, according to ******insights, 69% are on the Angels, and the line has climbed from a pick 'em (-110) to Angels -125. I still like it, but I am a little concerned. For the other game, 53% are on the Brewers, yet the line has climbed from Nats -135 to Nats -145.

I LOVE THE NATIONALS TONIGHT !!!!!!!

Bookies say that they break about even with baseball, so I know the public wins a lot. I also use ******insights and when the line climbs the way that it is, the Angels are definitely the play. It wins about 75-80 percent of the time. That just means that not only is the public on the Angels, but so is the smart money

Good Luck
