Vernon Wells, best player, worst team ?
who else falls into that category ?
meaning that he has been stuck with them for quite awhile now. A decent veteran with not much of a team Last edited by secondbase; 04-17-2010 at 08:31 AM. |

are you freaking kidding me???????
do some research first. vernon wells for the last 2 years has been garbage and was the most overpaid player in the MLB. 2 weeks into a season doesnt justify anything yet. |

That would be Andrew McCutchen.................
McCutchen is every scout's dream: a prototypical five-tool player. Add in the power, plate discipline, strong arm, and flashiness to that speed, and you have one of the most exciting players in baseball during the next decade. Baseball world, meet the game's next superstar: Andrew McCutchen

do some research ? JSi ??
he hit .300 in 08 and is a career .280 hitter that has played for the same rotten team for years. Last I knew, .300 was pretty damn good and a career 280 is pretty good for the MLB ! If he was a career 280 hitter and played the last 8 years for the bosox or yankees, he would be an icon |

quality player... not best player... worst team? far from it....
he was overpaid, but guys come on... he's quality like i said... his hot hitting streak will mellow down, but this good hitting run was due.. lets face it, we all knew wells could hit like this... no surprise here... |

there's quite a few guys who could be argued in this thread, but my vote goes to:
ROY OSWALT

And Andrew Mccutchen is only 23 and its only his 2nd year so how does he fit into this category? If it was young superstar in the making, it would make complete sense. Its aging veteran who has been a player with the same team and never had support around him. Def Gonzalez, before this year Halladay, Sizemore and Oswalt. But my number 1 guy would be Todd Helton! Most underrated player in baseball for the last 10 years. Career averages are .330 30 hr 107 rbis 100 bb and only 79 ks. Guy is a stud stuck on a crap team even though they have started to get some talented guys on that roster. |

Wells is overpaid, no argument there. His power numbers dropped from '06 to now, but he also had wrist problems.
He's 100% healthy, so a return to his old power form is not out of the question. As for a quality player on a garbage team, I think someone like Markakis for Baltimore would come to mind. Lance Berkman would be another one. |

Helton is a good thought here, although the rocks were in it once or twice
