Very interesting baseball trivia question

With the emergence of Strasburg, Mauer would also fit here if he continues on his path.

How many Number 1 overall baseball draft choices have made the Hall of Fame?

Correct answer is 0. A good bar question

Highest to ever make the Hall of Fame was Reggie Jackson drafted at Number 2, Puckett, Yount, and Molitior were drafted at Number 3

It will be interesting to follow Strasburg throughout his career. The biggest question with him is he going to stay healthy.

And this years #1 might come down the road with even more hype

I think Strasburg has a great chance of making the HOF. If he can stay healthy that is and thats the big question.

Should be noted

Griffey Jr, A-Rod, Adrian Gonzalez and Chipper were all taken Number one overall, so won't last too much longer with Griffey retiring

Here are some of the other notables

Brien Taylor
Phil Nevin
Paul Wilson
Matt Anderson
Kris Benson
Pat Burrell

God those 6 are just inconceivable, how can pro scouts and front office execs who are supposed to be the best of the best at evaluating talent miss SO FREAKING BADLY, to the point that teams might as well just have monkeys in suits making these decisions???

I know baseball is widely considered the hardest sport in which to project young talent but there is no excuse for top picks so often being wasted on bums like these guys, what a frigging joke.

Josh Hamilton is another currently active number one pick who comes to mind and while he is obviously fully worthy in terms of talent, the Tampa Bay front office somehow managed to miss some fairly serious personal issues before making such a huge commitment to him.
