Hooks, I can stand a lot of chit, but this statement just reminded me of how much I hate Hawk, and I am not alone in those feelings..I actually want to reguritate just seeing it in B & W.

If Cubs don't get Woods (and this won't happen), then I hope they get Kid K..a favorite of mine and always will be, regardless of the Uni.

just heard a rumor from a guy in the white sox organization that the sox have a deal working with the dodgers sending Quentin and Santos to the dodgers for Kemp and Minor leaguers! I will let you know if I hear more I will look for a link!

their red sox model works from every angle except for the one where they make keen free agent signings. Rickets was talking about how they have some bad contracts, yet doesn't fire the guy who brought tose contracts in. Seems very confusing to me how they cant see that.

Sox were never interested in Derek Lee and the re-signing of Konerko was just a matter of time.

Doubtful they sign Kerry Wood either.

I also think the beating the Ricketts family is taking is kinda nuts. They have inherited a shitload of bad contracts. I do agree keeping Hendry around doesn't make sense. He is signed through 2012 so that has to have something to do with it.

I will give the Ricketts ownership 5 years before I crap on them. Can't turn shit into gold overnite. It's been over 100 years, what's a few more?

One can probably assume there would be a riot in Chicago if the Cubs, in need of relief pitchers, let Wood go to the South side. The Rickets family would be hanged and burned in effegy. They would have had to hire some of the Contractors used in Iraq to protect their homes and lives.
