Wed. Afternoon Games (Angels/Tigers pick)

I think the Angels game this afternoon will be a good OVER bet. Here is my logic. First of all, great weather, nice and warm with mild humidity. Second, this series has some serious pent up runs. By that I mean there have been so many runners left on base that it is just unreal. The odds of that trend continuing especially in an afternoon game seems low to me. I think there will be plenty of base runners in this game and they won't be stranded. The WHIP for Saunders in the last 4 games computes to 2.25 with a 5.0 in his last outing that didn't even last 2 innings. As far as the Detroit pitching goes, the WHIP in the last 4 games for Jackson is 1.4. That's not really a strong number to bet one way or the other on, but the real number to look at here is that he doesn't really like to last beyond 6 innings. This game is going to see some tired bullpens get on the field and clinch the OVER for us. We may already be OVER before the bullpens get fired up, but even if we are not, they will do it for us. I'm OVER 9.5 on Angels/Tigers with an average sized wager.

I want so badly to bet on the early game in KC but the weather sucks there and I just can't get a read on it. I'm sure I'll lay something down but right now I have no opinion that I'm willing to stand by. My analysis for this one looks like this. The Cleveland pitcher (Huff) has not done well in the last month. He has an August WHIP of 2.28 and has not made it past the 5th inning except for one outing in a long time. For KC, Hochevar won't put as many guys on base, and could go past the 7th inning so even though I like going for the home team in afternoon games and the signs kind of point that way, I'm not sure. I'd like to hear some other opinions on this game. Any thoughts?

I like KC also, just because of how bad Huff is. But betting on bad teams like KC or Cle is like flipping a coin. GL with your Angels over; I'm leaning Det.

Thanks for the input folks. If I take any action on the early game I'll post it, but right now I'm still laying low with 50 minutes till first pitch

Ok folks, I made up my mind on the KC/CLE game. I'm going with the over. Weather is the only negative here. I'm betting an average sized bet here. Nothing aggressive.

I think Huff will suck, its a larthargic atmosphere in KC with to bad teams playing for nothing and two pitchers who have pitched to the over a lot lately. I see some value in this wager so I'm taking it.

So for the day so far I'm OVER on DET/LAA and CLE/KC
