Wednesday's Play--A Total I Like ALOT !!!

first the re-cap. My office computers were down yesterday morning so I didn't get to do my capping early the way I like. I ended up posting the over in the Twins/Red Sox, but it didn't work out for me. Still 10-5 for my last 15. And 3-0 on the huge "I Like It ALOT" plays. For Wednesday I have a total that I absolutely LOVE.

For Wednesday, I am playing the over 9.5 in the Astros/Reds. Here's why:

First of all the Astros start Felipe Paulino. Take advantage of these opportunities my friends, as once Backe returns, Paulino will be back to the minors. This guy sucks. Actually, he aspires to suck. He is 1-3 on the year with a 6.90 ERA, a 1.97 WHIP and a .347 batting average against. In 30 innings this year, he has allowed 43 hits and 16 walks. In his last 2 outings, he allowed 14 hits and 6 walks in 9.1 innings. On the road this year he is 1-2 with an 8.25 ERA and a .353 batting average against. For the entire month of May, get ready, his ERA is a "holy shit" 13.14 and his batting average against is .414. He has allowed 24 hits and 12 walks in 12.1 innings pitched this month !! Everyone is Ted Williams when they face this clown ! At night this year he is 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA and a .385 batting average against. Incredibly his ERA against the Reds this year (2 starts) is only 0.77. This is purely a statistical anamoly, as before this year his ERA at Great American was 9.00. This is a guy whose ERA for his entire career is 6.98 and his career WHIP is 1.795. The Reds are batting a rock-solid .285 over the past 7 days (2nd in the NL). They will bitch-slap this guy so hard he won't know what hit him.

Meanwhile the Reds start Bronson Arroyo. The guy leads the NL with 6 wins, but his ERA is 5.79, his WHIP is 1.48 and his batting average against is .290. At home this year he is 2-2 with, get this, an ERA of 10.45, a batting average against of .349 and a WHIP of 1.887. For the month of May he is 3-2 but with a 5.23 ERA. Against the Astros this year he is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA but a batting average against of .360. For his career against Houston he is 6-6 with a 5.49 ERA. Over the past 3 seasons, he is 3-6 against Houston, with a 5.82 ERA and a .286 batting average against. And speaking of batting average against, check out these numbers against Arroyo (each with 10 or more career at bats against him): Matsui .455; Pence .389; Tejada .367; Lee .355; and Berkman .317. I already told you that the Reds have the second highest batting average in the NL over the past 7 days. Well guess who is third ? The Astros, at .284.

I am not calling this a GOM, GOY or TOY, because those labels are almost always the kiss of death. Let's just say I absolutely LOVE this play !!

Wednesday's HUGE "I Like It ALOT" play is over 9.5 in the Astros/Reds.

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I can't play it until later, so I am sure it will be 10 for me as well. No matter. I think it still soars over the total.
