White Sox gettin Jake Peavy?

Talk on radio here...

Clayton Richard and Aaron Poreida or however his name is spelled is talk. If sox have to give up beckham in the deal, i hope they don't do it though.

The White Sox are close to acquiring Jake Peavy from the Padres, subject to the pitcher's approval of the deal, CBSSports.com has confirmed.

The San Diego Union-Tribune first reported the possible deal in its Thursday editions, and baseball sources confirmed this morning that a trade is close. The sources said the deal would include several of the White Sox's top prospects.

Peavy has the right to veto any trade, and in the past he has expressed a strong preference for remaining in the National League. Last winter, the Padres twice came close to trading Peavy, first to the Braves and later to the Cubs, but both deals fell through.

The White Sox have struggled in the early part of the season. Sox officials believe their team still has a chance, but that the next month of games could be critical. Until John Danks beat the Twins Wednesday night, White Sox starters other than Mark Buehrle were 0-8 this month, with a combined 8.11 ERA.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

its a slow start they are usually one of the highest scoring teams in baseball. I dont know if he wants to play for ozzie but it wont be because of the offense

the price isn't dropping...if anything the price has gone up since the beginning of the season. the closer it gets to the deadline the more teams want to make a move and will give up prospects.

towers is not a rook in trades...he has fleeced teams

I think its a bad deal unless Peavy is signed for at least 3 years. Why give up 2 or more top prospects for a "rent-a-player"? Throw in Fields and some dead weight with experience.
