White Sox vs Royals: Danks vs Greinke
I follow the AL central very closely, especially the white sox. I make a lot of bets on the sox, but never against them. Tomorrow, I'm afraid I may have to change that.
The White Sox are hot right now. They are suddenly winning games on the road, something they hadn't been able to to very often before this past week. The pitching is suddenly solid and the offense is heating up. Podsednik looks like he did in the 2005 playoffs and Ramirez is out of his slump. In one day, the Sox went from 4th to 2nd place in the AL central. The Royals, on the other hand, are pretty cold. They are 2-8 in their last 10. So why would I place a bet on the Royals at -170 tomorrow? A few reasons. Zach Greinke is the most obvious one. 8-1 with a 0.84 era. Hottest pitcher in the league. Undefeated at home. But another reason is that is the final game of the series. The white sox have been blowing these games all year, winning only 2 of 16 series enders, one at home and one away and both in the first 2 weeks of the season. I still can't decide if I will place the bet, because the fan in me wants to just believe that the sox are too hot to be stopped. It is good information though, so I figured I would at least put it out there. |

after finding every reason KC should win this game, i made this bet:
5* White Sox ML +170 That ERA has to go up eventually, right? And the white sox have to sweep a series eventually. |

All that handicapping to show why the sox would lose, and my last minute change-of heart gets me big money
