Chicago Cubs at Washington

Ordinarily I like the spot for the Nationals with their new manager and you will see excellent play from them, but the Cubs are in the same spot they are hungry and ready to go on a roll with their ace on the mound. Last night it was Harden getting back on track tonight it will be Zambrano who only got 5 wins in the first half due to terrible run support. Zambrano has pitched better on the road 3.20ERA and at night 2.81ERA. He will be doing both here tonight against the Nationals who have just a .216 batting average against him with only Guzmen (2-6) with any success against him. He's 4-0 with a 1.63ERA in his last 4 outings vs. the Nationals. Cubs are 7-1 in thier last 8 vs. NL East with Z on the mound and 40-18 over his last 58 road starts.

Stammen will go for the Nationals coming off his complete game victory against the Astros. It was pretty impressive coming on the road where he sports a 2.61ERA, but note that he has not pitched well at home 7.54ERA still small sample, but I think the Cubs bats are ready to party. Now I'm not staying they'll score 6 or more runs again, but they should only need a few with Zambrano on the mound on regular rest. Zambrano is the type of guy that will start this winning streak for the Cubs he constantly pitches with a chip on his shoulder and is one of my favorite pitchers in the league.

Chicago Cubs

Baltimore at Chicago W/S

Mark Buehrle has gone 4-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 10 starts against Baltimore, including 3-0 with a 2.27 ERA in the last five matchups in Chicago. Jason Berken on the other hand starts for Baltimore and he's 0-6 with a 6.15 ERA in his last eight starts.

Chicago W/S
