Wiz's 3-Pack

Cubs at St Louis

The Cubs are 1-4 in Hardens last five starts as he takes on the Cards today at Busch Stadium. The Cards will start Wellemeyer who has had one good start, one bad start and one OK start. The OK start was last time out in a win over the Mets, and he'll look to improve on that today. The Cards are 10-3 in their last 13 games vs. a right-handed starter and are 20-6 in their last 26 home games.

Best Bet:St Louis

Detroit at Kansas City

DETROIT is 12-1 (+12.2 Units) against the money line after 2 straight games where they stranded 5 or less runners on base over the last 2 seasons.
The average score was: DETROIT (7.0) , OPPONENT (3.4)

Let's start with the Tigers righty, who coming off a 13-win rookie season, has done everything right thus far this season, going 2-0 with a lockdown 1.96 ERA!

Sidney Ponson has been a veritable gas can, going 0-2 with a 7.04 ERA. he's just 4-4 with a 6.62 ERA in 9 career games against them...

With Detroit's bats warming up yesterday against Davies, they'll get just what the doctor ordered to keep it going with a match up agaisnt the struggling Ponson today.

Best Bet:Detroit

Seattle at LA Angels

The Mariners are 7-2 in their last nine games when they are the underdog. Seattle has gone 10-4 in their last 14 games overall. However, over the last 53 meetings between these two teams, the Angels are 36-17. I clearly realize this is not the same lineup with out Bad Vlad, but this is way to well coached of a team and still has talent in enough areas to get this done today.

When I look at these teams, two things immediately come to mind; Seattle is definitely 'over-achieving', while the Angels are 'underachieving'! Angels SP Jered Weaver allowed three runs and seven hits in seven innings during a no decision Tuesday against the Tigers. Weaver allowed a run in each of the first three innings, including leadoff homers to Curtis Granderson in the first and third. He then pitched four scoreless frames while Los Angeles rallied to tie the game at 3 in the fifth. Weaver didn't issue a walk and struck out six and I look for him and the rest of the ANGELS to improve to 6-5 (+2.1 units) when playing in front of the hometown crowd!

recommend:LA Angels
