St Louis at LA Dodgers
On the mound for the Red Birds is their ace of staff Chris Carpenter. On the season he is 12-3 with a 2.27 ERA. Since the break Carpenter is 5-0 with a 1.91 ERA in six starts. He won his only start against LA this season going 7 innings allowing only 1 run on 9 hits. On the mound for the Dodgers tonight will be Charlie Haeger making his first start of the season. No situational stats to give out here. The youngster faces a team with two of the best hitters in baseball on it. I do not like his chances. If the Dodgers are to win the game they will need to get a plethora of base runners on but against Carpenter that’s not likely. The Cardinals are 22-6 in their last 28 games as the favorite. The Dodgers as stated above are 4-6 in their last 10 games overall. LA has scored more then 3 runs once in their last four games. In the head to head match up, St. Louis is 37-17 against the Dodgers in the last 54 games. St Louis (BEST BET) Minnesota at Texas I like the Rangers to be another BEST BET Rangers now have sole posession of the Wild Card and I think they will continue to hold it for a while here as they open up a series with the Twins who are just 4-11 in their last 15 games and have just been awful on the road. They'll send Liriano to the mound against surprise Tommy Hunter who the Twins have never faced. I like the angle here with Hunter because the Twins have never seen him and it will take at least 1 trip through the line up for them to make adjustments. Hunter has a 2.75 ERA in his last starts and a 3.09 ERA at home. What is more impressive about Hunter is his ability to pitch big at night he has a 4-2 record, with a 1.87 ERA in 55.2 IP. He will get an offensive boost here as the Rangers got Kinsler off the DL in which he went 4-6 with 2HR in the final two games carrying the Rangers to the lead in the Wild Card. If Kinsler can be the powerful right handed bat he was before the Rangers have a real shot here to win the wild card. They have dominated at home vs. LHP they have a .277 average and are scoring an average 6.25 runs per 9 innings. Liriano struggles continue with a 5.71 ERA in his last three. He continues to fail on the road and has a 6.01 ERA this year with a 3-6 record he has one start vs. the Rangers this year where he went 6 IP 5H 2ER 3BB and 1HR. In his last 2 road games he has gone 10.1 IP 10 ER 6 BB and 3HR. He's going to have a tough time here against the Rangers who are 2nd in the league in HR's and pitching in a tough Arlington stadium that is #9 on the most HR hit list. Look for Texas to keep rolling here tonight against the Twins who are 1-7 in their last 8 vs. AL West. Rangers are 13-3 in their last 16 as favorites and 9-0 in their last 9 as home favorites. Texas below are not plays by me but system & trend info: ( Baseball System) PLAY AGAINST all underdogs with a money line of +100 or higher like San Diego, with miserable offense (4.1 or less runs per game), against a good NL starting pitcher with ERA of 3.70 or less, with an overused bullpen that pitches more than 3.2 innings per game. This unofficial play is 133-38, 77.8 percent, however has been quite good this season at 22-5. ( Baseball Trend ) Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox are 21-2 in home games vs. teams outscored by 0.5 or more runs a game in the second half of the season. (Sox Record)

Seth: Gimme that. Alright, you look like a future pedophile in this picture, number 1. Number 2: it doesn't even have a first name, it just says "McLovin"! Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal? Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man? Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright? |
