Wiz's Sunday Night Bases:The Cards/My Cubs

The Cardinals hope to pin their hopes tonight on Adam Wainwright as my Cubbies took game 2 (as game 1) this afternoon & try to avoid the big sweep. I'm not making a play on whom will take this game but rather make a play on the the total.

On the mound tonight is Adam Wainwright who is pitching superbly of late.. He is 9-5 with a 3.09 ERA. In his first two July starts he is 1-0 with a 0.52 ERA. His home/away numbers are peculiar. He is only 3-4 at home but has a 2.35 ERA. On the road he is 6-1 with a higher 4.05 ERA. Adam has been great against the Cubbies this season. In three starts he is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA. Look for a low scoring game here as Pujols Probably won’t be much of a factor as Sweet Lou has stated he will be walked every chance they get. A pitchers duel for sure.

As for my Cubbies Randy Wells is a 27 year old rookie who is 4-3 with a 2.48 ERA. This kid is fantastic. His home/away numbers are similar while his day/night stat line is a solid difference. In his day starts he is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA while at night he has gone 2-2 with a 2.08 ERA. Almost a full point difference. This is his first career start against the Cardinals and I fully expect him to dazzle the crown. What a stud this pitcher is.

The Cardinals are 2-6 in their last eight Sunday games. The Cubs are 12-4 in their last 16 games when they are the favor tie. Chicago is 9-4 in their last 13 home games. In the head to head area the Cardinals are 7-4 in the first 11 meetings this season.

The Play: UNDER 8.5 ( THE UNDER IS A MORTAL LOCK)

I hope that this is a slow progressing game as they should be a little tired after this afternoons game.If not then i'm in possible trouble,lol.
