Yankees fire Dave Eiland

what a boneheaded move that is. Because the pitching was poor in the ALCS, you fire Dave. I think the pitchers they aquired before and during the season were overated to begin with. Aj Burnett was not that great coming to the Yankees, yeah he is a good pitcher but not the calibur they thought he was going to be. Kerry Wood is washed up.

Eiland is terrible , he couldnt even pitch when he was pitcher ..... i like the move, AJ was flithy stuff and was very good in toronto ..... he also screwed Joba up big time as well .... buh bye Dave!

Hello my friend, no disrespect to you but that isn't why he was let go !

He was NOT fired because of what happened in the ALCS, there were several problems in the club house with Mr.Eiland and the Yankee coaches and pitching staff.

I knew there was problems but pretty convenent to fire him a day or 2 afterwards. It\f this was the problem, Then his firing should of been done before the post season.

I didn't think he was that bad, However the performance shown in the post season refected off him, but i don't think Eiland was responsible for the pitching performace by the Yankees. These guys were pitching well until the post season, then it all fell apart. Burnett has been terrible all year, even in his first start 3 starts as a Yankee it was brutal for him.
