Not sure it's best thing for baseball but add in the Red Sox collapse and it's been fun

I think that a Yankees vs. Phillies WS would have been best for baseball though

Not best for baseball if they are looking for any TV ratings the rest of the playoff

LOL no doubt. Maybe now that Philly is knocked out we can get those stupid day games v Texas moved to night and let the NL have the day games.

I agree with you Dr Jack in theory... I just hate the fact that the yanks and other big spenders like Bosox and phils get all the big name free agents every year and us small market cities get the shaft...

Feels good to see them get gone in the first round...

I agree that the best thing for the economics of baseball is a yanks phils series

I'm glad Philly got knocked out. I think Tigers won the World Series when Cards knocked them out tonight!

A St. Louis Detroit World Series has a long history and should get good ratings. Obviously less then yanks-phillys though.

Small market teams have that chance to compete...........it's all about the draft for them.

Why do people care about TV ratings? It's not like you can't watch the game. Baseball won't fade away.

philly their own worst enemy here

by sweeping struggling, injury depleted atlanta the last 3 games of the season, allowed St louis in who is the hottest team in the national league. if they would have just taken a backseat, rest the starters, let atlanta sweep them, they play arizona in round 1 and more than likely win that series.

Just like the Yankees laid over for the Rays? Philly did the right thing in my book and just came up short. Its all about the pitching and Carpenter pitched the game of his life tonight. I think these 5 games series need to be done away with though.
