I think its 50 % of the cause

I think there was also an influx of good young pitchers ( Latos, Price, Cahil etc. ) and guys in their 3rd -4th years really getting into their prime ( Lester , Josh Johnson , King Felix, Weaver,Bucholtz, Cain , Kershaw, etc, )

I think this is some of the best pitching the league has seen since the late 80's
