HP - Great contest and thanks for all your hard work.

I believe I understand this but I just want a clarification on this issue:

Team A -11
Team B +11

If you take Team A, you could gain 1 pt or lose 11 pts.
If you take Team B, you could gain 11 pts or lose 0 pts.

Correct?

Am I right in saying that a 1 point dog that wins gets 1 point and a 2 point dog that wins gets 2 points but a 3 or 4 point fav that wins gets 3 points? Just wondering.

I understand the concept on the scoring but shouldnt an underdog that wins outright be worth more than a fave that covers. and what about underdogs that cover the spread?
For example:
Syracuse -2
Oklahoma St +2
On the way the scoring is set up, if Syracuse wins by 3 you get 3 points for that.
If Oklahoma St wins outright you only get 2 points. That doesnt really seem fair.
So are there no points awarded for picking dogs that stay inside the number?
Memphis U +4
Pittsburgh -4
Say you pick Memphis U +4 and they lose by 2 are there any points awarded for getting the selection right or are points only awarded if the dogs win outright. In wagering the pointspread is what counts. If no points are awrded for dogs covering the spread it kinda defeats the purpose in selecting them. Seems that all the weight is giving to teams that have small spreads and are expected to cover them. I would think a team that covers a 15pt spread would be awarded more. Its harder to cover double digit spreads than 1 or 2 point spreads. Thas basically just 1 possession in the game. Just wondering. Thanks!!

the rules are fair ... games within 3 pts are close games anyway ... no award for getting the ATS right .. this segment is ONLY SU

Scoring error maybe. I had N. Iowa, lost and got 0 pts. I had Wis. Milw, won and got 3 pts. I had Syracuse, lost and got -2 pts. I had S. ILL, lost and got -4 pts. Together that comes to -3. You have me for -6. Please check. Thanks.

Clear, I got you Mister Hots. Basically the scoring is fixtated on picking favorites and them covering the spread. If its scored on SU which what you indicate this segment is, then pointspreads wouldn't seem to matter. It defeats the purpose of picking a dog unless it wins outright.
and even then ....
Wright St -1 if they would have won you get 3 points
Miami(OH) +1 they win by 5 at wright St and for picking them correctly its only worth 1 point.
Good contest you really do a great job with everything in the forum Im glad to be a part of it. I just have to pick according to your rules and make it to tha next segment thanks.

Also the clear was not directed at you, its for me. If i see yeager posted something last everyday i will check it everytime i come into the forum for no reasons, so i post so i know i do not have to check it

DUDE whats with the fugged up attitude. Everytime I ask you something you respond like you have a cork up ya a$$. I had questions and concerns on clarifications and this was the place to post so I did. Doenst matter if I say its fair or not, its your contest and I am playing by your rules. I stated that in my last post. Either come to me with the same respect I come to you or don't come at all. No I havent played in a contest with this set up. Most contest are set up where you are awarded for picking underdogs. This one only favors underdogs with big spreads that win outright, I got it. I understand your scoring format and will base my selections accordingly. It aint that crucial. You don't have to respond to this just let it be understood. As long as I continue to post picks I'm in the contest unless you have a problem with that. Have a good day.
