Insights from D.J. Fields, odds consultant for offshore sportsbook Bookmaker

No. 6 Washington Huskies vs. No. 10 Auburn Tigers – Open: -2; Move: -2.5; Move: -3; Move: -2.5; Move: -2; Move: -1.5

“Everyone is on Washington here. We have both public and pro money entrenched behind the Huskies,” Fields said. “Sharp money has been all on the Under for this game, and the total has been driven down from 54 to 48. Normally, ‘dog and under is good for the house, but here, we are going to need the favorite in a blowout.”

No. 14 Michigan Wolverines vs. No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Open: -2.5; Move: -1.5; Move: Pick; Move: +1; Move: +2; Move: +3; Move: +2; Move: +1; Move: Pick; Move: -1

“We have been all over the map with this game, but thankfully, so have the players,” Fields said. “We opened this game back in May, and the early money was all on Michigan. The sharp action bet us down from the Irish as 2.5-point favorites all the way to 3-point ‘dogs. Recently, the action has done a 180, and it's been all Notre Dame money pouring in.

“Despite the volatile line movement, we have emerged surprisingly balanced on this game. We have sharp action holding Notre Dame from +3 to pick, so we will be rooting for Michigan here.”

Louisville Cardinals vs. No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide – Open: -23.5; Move: -25.5; Move: -26.5; Move: -25.5; Move: -24.5

“We go into every week hoping to beat the Alabama teasers, and this Saturday will be no different,” Fields said of activity on this 8 p.m. ET start. “The public is all over the Crimson Tide, but the sharp money is divided on this one. The division carries over to the total, as initial sharp action drove the number from 53.5 to 60.5. However, recent action has all been on the Under.

“We are facing exposure if the total lands anywhere between 55 and 60. And with the wiseguys split on this game, we will be rooting for Louisville to knock down the tremendous liability from public action.”

No. 17 Virginia Tech Hokies at No. 19 Florida State Seminoles – Open: -4.5; Move: -5.5; Move: 6.5; Move: -7; Move: -6.5; Move: -7; Move: -7.5

Bookmaker.eu’s action for this 8 p.m. ET Monday contest has been one-sided on the favorite.

“Both sharp money and the public are all over Florida State in this one,” Fields said. “It took moving the line 3 full points before we finally started to see some buyback on Virginia Tech. On the total, we are looking at a showdown between the public and pros. Sharp money has moved the total from 52 to 56.5, but thankfully, the public is locked in on the Under.”

More than half of the money wagered on the odds to win the national championship at DraftKings' New Jersey sportsbook is on either Clemson or Alabama. The Tigers have attracted the most bets and the most money.

More money has been wagered on Michigan to win the national championship than any other team at the FanDuel sportsbook at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

The largest season-win total bet the Westgate SuperBook had taken was on Oregon State.

A house player, meaning a VIP casino guest, bet to win $80,000 on the Beavers to win less than 2.5 games at -130

Stanford RB Bryce Love is second with 10.9% of all money wagered, followed by Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor. The Westgate's second-biggest liability is 50-1 longshot is UCF QB McKenzie Milton.

Couple other popular public season win totals from Westgate ... South Carolina over 7 ... Michigan State over 8.5

Michigan at Notre Dame (-1)

The showdown between the Wolverines and Fighting Irish is attracting the most action at the betting windows, heading into the first full college football weekend.

The Westgate took sharp action on each side, causing the line to shift from Michigan -2.5 at its highest all the way to Notre Dame -1, where it sat Tuesday. MGM said three times as much money had been bet on Michigan-Notre Dame than any other of the Week 1 games as of Tuesday.

William Hill and the FanDuel sportsbook in New Jersey also reported Michigan-Notre Dame as the most heavily bet game this weekend.
