Big 12 Expansion?
Here we go again. It is that time of the year. The latest expansion rumor has theBig 12 taking Louisville. According to CBSSports, "the Big 12 expansion committee plans to put together a report for the Big 12's Board of Directors next week. Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione, Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds, Oklahoma State president Burns Hargis, and Kansas State president Kirk Schulz make up the committee."
There can be little doubt that if Oklahoma State won a Conference Championship game, they, NOT Alabama would have played LSU in the NC game. Alabama got in because LSU was going to play a team that had not played in a Conference Championship game. Stanford, Oklahoma State, and Alabama all were not going to participate. Alabama and Stanford simply did not qualify for their Conference Championship but Oklahoma State did. Unfortunately, the Big 12 only had 10 teams, and no Conference Championship. They will not allow that to happen again.
If the Big 12 takes Louisville, Cincinnati cannot be far away. This will put an end to the Big Least. Boise State and San Diego State will opt to remain in the MWC, which will be much stronger than the Big Least. The Big Least will lose it's AQ status. I hope that the big 12 does not xcrew around this time, like they did last year. Take Loisville and Cincinnati and put the Big Least out of their misery.
