Mark Richt would be the best choice ... IMO Mullen is not the right choice ... if he gets hired he wont do anything with that program. Mark my words

The Job is Richt's "If he want it".

Richt's family wants him to take a year off and think about everything

It is believed Richt, would make about $4 million annually at Miami. There is still the issue of the assistants' pool which is key for the head coach in any hire. It is known that Miami athletics isn't exactly swimming in cash.

Just curious why you love richt. Mullen is a great offensive coach that has Florida ties from when he was an oc with the gators.

If I were a Miami fan and or alum. First priority would be an on campus stadium

On campus stadium not happening anytime soon

Never said I love Richt, just think he is the better hire, he has better Florida ties (Especially in S Florida) over Mullen and Richt's record speaks for itself.

Sure Richt chokes in big games but hard to ignore a 145-51 record

Also I would rather have an Alum

It's being reported down here that Richt will be the next head coach at Miami, nothing official yet, but a lot of guys who cover this stuff are saying it's Richt. Assuming this is true, I like the hire, he's been stealing kids from South Florida and getting them to UGA, so he can definitely recruit the area, and this is where he grew up and went to school, he also brings instant credibility to the program. I know he has a reputation of not winning big games, but playing an ACC schedule instead of an SEC schedule should help

Mark Schlabach reporting::

Well, was just told with 100-percent certainty that Mark Richt to Miami should be finalized tonight or tomorrow.

I'm told his deal is very similar to the one he had at Georgia. Probably won't be announced until Thursday or Friday

From what I'm hearing, the stuff that needs to get worked out is making sure Miami will pay for top notch assistants, I don't think Richt would take the job if Miami wants to skimp on paying assistants, when you do that, you end up with Mark D'onofrio coaching your defense

One51Rum I believe is a Canes fan too ... I would be interested in his thoughts about this with an incoherent post or 15 separate threads.

More than Miami could hope for, thanks to UGa losing sight of what is truly important.

A big time home run for the Canes

As much as I hate Miami I hope Richt turns the program around and revives the rivalry that FSU/Miami used to be

Really had a chance to be great again, Taggart/Richt over the next few years would have been epic.

At least we still have Taggart to look forward to.
