Chip Kelly Staying at Oregon

After a strong bid by the Tampa Bay Bucs, Chip Kelly has decided to stay with Oregon. Many thought he was headed to the NFL, but late last night he said he wanted to stay with the Ducks.

Before coming to Oregon as the offensive coordinator in 2007, he served as an assistant at Columbia, New Hampshire and John Hopkins. Kelly has made the most of his head coaching opportunity going 34-6. He earned $2.8 million in salary during the 2011 season. No news if he has received a raise because of the NFL interest.

Good news for the Ducks.

Mr. K, I don't know this for a fact but would suspect money was an issue. Tampa Bay's previous coach (name escapes me) made $2 million last year. Kelly made $2.8 with up to another $1 million in incentives.
