Michigan opener vs Bama hot ticket

Michigan school officials announced today that it had sold its entire allotment of 25,000 tickets for the season opener against Alabama. The game will be played at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas. Ticket prices ranged between $125 and $285.

The game, scheduled for September 1, will pit the defending National Champions against the Sugar Bowl winning Wolverines. Both teams are projected to be highly ranked in preseason polls.

Alabama and Michigan have met only three times during their storied history.

Think I'll be inclined to take the points with the wolverines in this one.

This is a great opener. Someone is going to take a big step towards the BCS Championship game and someone is going to take a big hit.

This game will be a hot ticket for sure. Alabama will sell its 25,000 tickets plus just like Michigan.

I don't know how many fans Cowboy Stadium holds, but just heard on a talk show that their will be 30,000 standing room only tickets available. Didn't quiet understand that but that's what he said.

No matter, it will be a strong sellout.

(Cuse my friend....don't sell Bama short in big openers. Saban has been pretty good at winning these type games.) Great offseason motivator for both teams!

It's better to lose 1 early than 1 late.

Jerryworld has 30,000 standing room only tickets available for every event they have there. It is the way the stadium is built.

Junk, this game may have 90 to 100 thousand fans attending. Same talk show, they said Michigan was expecting 40,000 to make the trip. Bama fans travel well also, so ole Jerry is already counting the money he'll make off this game.

Neither one of these teams will be in the NC game. 'Bama simply looses too much talent, and has away games at Arkansas, Missouri, LSU and the above mentioned Michigan, coupled with the fact that the BCS will NEVER allow two teams from the same Conference play in the NC game again because of the terrible T.V. ratings (the worst ever for that game), 'Bama will not return. Michigan simply does not have enough talent overall to get there. Michigan has games at Notre Dame, Nebraska, and Ohio State. I do not see them getting past that schedule.

No Fred, I won't be going to Dallas. Easy chair in front of the TV for me. Four or five years ago we drove out to Fayetteville, Arkansas for a Bama game and the trip liked to kill me. Guess I'm getting old too my friend.

Fred, I think Alabama will be really good again this year. Down on defense (not as much as many think) and better on offense. Our offense has a chance to be really good. QB has experience and confidence, four offensive lineman returning including three future NFL players and a stable of stud running backs. Receiver is the question mark for most but remember the Carter kid from who played at Ohio State as a freshman is now ready/available, plus a lot of young talented kids who now have a chance to play. Saban is going to give five star safety recruit Eddie Williams a shot at receiver. He's a big kid at 6'3" with speed. May be a sleeper for WR this season.

Mule trust me... If there is one team I would never sell short it would be Bama, and while I am sure they will still have one of the better teams in the country right now I still have to like Michigan here... Perhaps the total will be a better play. Michigan should again take a big step forward with another year under Hoke, and FINALLY figuring out how to use Robinson. I am expecting that team to be damn solid.

Still going to have to figure out who each team is losing, but would think Michigan most likely going to catch points here. I would guess Mich should get around a TD which would be too much for me to pass up. Then again I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see it open up shockingly low the closer we get either... Similar to when Penn State played LSU in the bowl game a couple years ago. Absolutely loved PSU, and though I would catch points then they oepned the damn team as the favorite!

Too far out for me to know for sure with additions/subtractions though. It is rare I get overly excited for a game so far out, but I am definitely looking forward to this one. So I will be looking for some early reporting from you Riders

Yep, we will miss that great defense from last year, "Damn they were good", but our DE will be good with Damion Square, Jesse Williams, Ed Stinson and Quinton Dial all back, but one place we may have trouble will be in the middle at NT...? who..Brandon Ivory a big kid at 6-4 308, someone will have to step up here for sure !!! The LB will be young with Depriest being the best one IMO, the others may be Atchison, Hubbard (this kid is 6'6" tall, that is a tall LB) and Johnson or Mosley. I'am sure Saban will still run that 3-4 Defense. Then at CB we will have Milliner and I would guess John Fulton and at S, Rober Lester and Sunseri, but most of all we got Kirby Smart one more year to help get the D back up to speed, thank god we got that man on our sideline !!!!! It will be a good defense, not great but a good one......And as you said, I look for the offense to be damn good even without Trent !! Time will tell, spring training will be here before you know it and I for one can't wait !! Later Riders......

........."ROLL TIDE ROLL" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5dimes had a line posted the other day of Alabama -10.

Big Michigan fan here, but they will not be competing for a national title next year. Love the coaching staff, and the talent is improving with a great class coming in but they are not at that stage yet.

Start with Alabama in Dallas, and also on the road at Notre Dame, Nebraska, and Ohio State. Michigan State is at home, but that is another tough game.

Wolverines benefited from a great home schedule last year with only tough road game being at MSU. Shoe will be on the other foot in the fall, I would be happy with a record of 9-3 when it is all said and done.

Good post Mr. K.

Welcome your knowledge on Michigan this year!

That is a difficult road schedule for the Wolverines for sure.
