Texas Backs Out of Minnesota Series

The University of Texas, knowing that it is now facing the reality of only playing 3 non-con games, has backed out of it's hime and home series against Minnesota, scheduled to being in Minny in 2015. The"oficial" reason given is a"contract impasse on video rights". The real reason is that Texas also has games scheduled woth Cal tha season, and there is no way that MAck Brown wants to face to BCS teams, no matter how good or bad they may be, in non-con action in the same season.

Texas now joins Texas Tech when it comes to being gutless with their non-con schedules. In truth, the entire Big 12 is gutless when it comes to scheduling non-con games except for Oklahoma and A&M in the future. A Chicken S**t conference that will be down to 10 teams next season. Texas A&M plays Arkansas every year, and has a home and home series against USC in 2015, but by that time, the odds are that there will be no Little 10 Conference, because there will be no T.V. money. Networks do not pay big money to televise garbage games, and with no decent non-con games and a very weak conference overall, that is exactly the product that the Little 10 will put out.

BigdaddyQH is losing it at a rapidly increasing pace.

I could say that it is sad to watch but I would be lying if I did.

the reality is Texas does not schedule a tough non conference schedule

nor does florida

I think Floridas conference schedule is the toughest however.

Oklahoma isnt afraid of a stout non conference...its not exactly smart though

Exactly my point about Texas. Texas does not, and never will, schedule a tough non-con slate. They learned their lessons from Boise State very well. Schedule one good non-con game and win that. Then, play in a very soft conference with one, or possibly two good conference oppoenets, and cruise to a bowl game. That is the secret to Boise State's success, and Texas is just following suit. They have made sure that the Little 10 will not expand in the near future. They have also made sure that there is no Conference Championship Game. Their puppet, the Little 10 Commmish, has said as much.

Florida is different. They are willing to schedule decent teams, as long as they do not leave the State of Florida. Certainly games against Miami and Florida State, along with an improving USF team are tougher than the trash that Texas plays. While many complain that Florida is not willing to leave the State for a non-con game, eliminating most of the good teams in the nation, they still have decent competition within the State of Florida.
