What Does Texas Do in 2011?

The Big 12 Commish has decreed that there will be round robin play in the Big 12-2 next season. He has all but said that he wants Colorado OUT of the Big 12 next season, so they can begin their round robin schedule. He has also all but guaranteed thatthere will be NO Big 12-2 Championship game, not that the BCS would allow that anyways.

This lead to a very interesting question. Texas has 4 non-con games scheduled. Unless they get an exemption from the NCAA, they will have to rid themselves of one of these games, since they will be playing 9 conference games. The non-con games are against Rice, BYU, and UCF at home, and UCLA in Pasadena. So who does Texas dump?

They can not dump UCLA, because they host them this season, and dumping them would just make Texas look sleazier than they already do. They would not dump a sure win against Rice. They will not dump UCF because they went there in 2007. So it looks like Texas will dump BYU. Why play a good team that could beat you when you can play Rice?
