Not a gonzaga fan

and I don't have any money on this game...

With that said, I am shocked how lopsided the officiating looks in this game. The charges called on Gonzaga are bordering on ludicrous, and Portland is permitted to do as they please on defense.

I know these posts are a dime a dozen, but it really sticks out in this particular game.

portland has out fouled gonzaga by 7, and have been outscored by 20+ in the 2nd half. 90% of the time the home team gets favortism in the fouling aspect and that isnt the case in this game, so i dont understand why your saying this stinks?

Well

I'm not sure you can count the "intentional" fouls that Portland committed at the end of the game. There were about six of them. Additionally, Gonzaga simply shot the lights in the second half, so that obviously accounts for the scoring.

I was just making an observation as I watched the game, that calls did not seem even. I saw multiple flops by Portland that were calls charges, and it didn't happen at the other end of the court, particularly in the first half.

I'm not saying the game was fixed or anything. I just think it's difficult for refs to be 100% unbiased considering everyone in the stadium wants to throw a soda at them for a call against the home team.

I'm guessing Gonzaga would take this game by about 30-35 if the exact same game were played in Spokane...even with the same refs.

Thats why homecourt is a huge factor. Notre Dame has won something like 36 in a row at home, and they werent better then all of those teams. Teams play better at home, its just a fact of the game. Your claim was that the refs kept the game closer because of the unfair game calling, doesnt really make sense in your argument. I do agree tho their were multiple flops. You see that in every game now, 90% of the charges called can be proclaimed as flops. I mean i watch alot of basketball and if i see 1 more 7 footer take a charge from a point guard driving the lane i dont know what ill do. Basketball is a difficult sport to watch, and ref at the same time, too many judgment calls that could potentially go either way. Refs have become to much of a factor in the outcome.
