3rd place game....

do you think there should be a 3rd place game before the championship game on Monday?

give these two schools that worked so hard to get to the final four one more game. also give NCAA and CBS a lot more revenue from TV coverage - ads...etc...

i mean this year would have been a so-so game with VCU - UK, but in years past there would be some great matchups and another game to bet on

thoughts? was discussing with a buddy yesterday and interested to get opinions.

There used to be a 3rd place game years ago. I don't recall exactly when they stopped, been probably 25-30 years, but I do remember when they would play a 3rd place game. Good idea, but doubt they would ever bring it back....

absolutely not. This is a single elimination tournament (and the best single tournament in sports). It's all about winning the championship.

I would much rather see a 3rd place game than the new 63rd and 64th place game.

im just saying....lets look at years past and see some of the matchups we would have....

has nothing to do with double elimination or second chances...both teams won 5 games to get to this point and maybe one more game is a proving ground against another team. maybe its mid major vs bcs or Duke vs kansas kind of game that many people would LOVE to see...

dont think it ruins the tourney at all, and think it adds much more revenue for everyone involved (of course the players(

Only problem is getting players motivated for that game, nobody is going to want to play in that game

it works for the World Cup, since the tournament only happens once every four years. would anyone really want to watch VCU beat an uninterested Kentucky team?

agree. I coached junior high boys bball and we had to play in the 3rd and 4th place game. Getting the kids motivated to play that game is brutal. No one really cares honestly
