#8 Purdue (-1) @ Michigan State....Sunday 1pm ET...Who ya got?

Opening line was taken from 5dimes

Three games remain for Purdue before the regular season Big Ten schedule is complete. They go on the road to Michigan State today, home against Illinois on the 1st, and close out the season @ Iowa on the 5th.

What worries me here is that Michigan St. is going to finish the season with the "backs against the wall" mentality. They are 11-2 at home this year and definitely know how to get up for games like this. The only think I'm happy about is that this isn't Michigan State's last home game of the regular season. They will be closing out their seniors at home versus Iowa. Purdue is 5-0 against the spread in their last 5 and 16-5 in their last 21 as a favorite. Michigan State is 6-0 against the spread as a home underdog of .5-6.5. They are also 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. Purdue has been relying on JJ for most of the season due to E'Twaun's struggles. I think after the past few weeks we can safely say that E'Twaun is back and ready to go. On Sunday, they'll both need to have big games because I never know which role player ( Smith, Byrd, Jackson, or T.Johnson) is going to show up.

It's going to be an all out brawl, you can bet your ass on that. This Michigan St. squad doesn't know what kind of respect they'll get from the tournament committee. With that being said, they know they still have to fight their way into the dance. I think Purdue knows what is at stake. They still sit in a position to possibly earn a #1 seed based on what has happened recently to teams ranked above them. They showed some heart by beating Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and rival Indiana in four back to back games.

So, with all of that said......who do you like today?

Lean Purdue here, MSU has played better lately but that was in wins against Minnesota who is clearly declining, and barely getting by Illinois at home. Purdue is a lot better team than either of those, and unless Durrell Summers decides to show up for a game they won't have enough scoring to keep up. Lucas is playing better, but he doesn't have enough help.
