Arrow Baby Boilers No More....

Remember those Purdue Boilermakers who gave Xavier a run in the NCAA tournament last season? Do you also remember how 4 of the 5 starters at the beginning of the season were Freshman? Well, Purdue is ranked #10 in the preseason ranks according to the coaches poll. Purdue's marque game is December 2nd against now ranked #5 Duke. Purdue had a few great games to look forward too pending results but I like the Davidson, Duke, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and IU game. You may be wondering why IU? Well, the program is in disarray and the Hoosiers are looking to have an abysmal season so I'm looking forward to Purdue putting on an impressive blowout!! I am a season ticket holder so this season brings a lot of excitement!

For those that don't know, Purdue visited Australia over the summer to compete against some Australian professional teams. The competition was what the Boilermakers had wanted for their final test of the 2008 Australian tour, but the result was not as Purdue fell to the Cairns Taipans by the score of 116-110. E'Twaun Moore led all scorers with 26 points, ending the five-game tour with an average of 27.0 points per contest. JaJuan Johnson added 21 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, giving the sophomore his third double-double of the tour. Robbie Hummel was the third Boilermaker to eclipse the 20-point plateau, scoring 20 while adding seven boards, five assists and five steals.

Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson, E'Twaun Moore, and Scott Martin were the head of an elite recruiting class for Purdue in 2007/2008. All true freshman, the Purdue men's basketball team figured to have a slow start with expectations hoping to rise as they grew up. Little did all of us Purdue fans know that those "baby boilers" were going to grow up quickly and end the 2007-08 season 25-9 and had a respectable outing against Xavier, who was an Elite 8 team.

Keep your eyes open for the Boilers this year as well as my thread for my 4 Highest Confidence picks in college basketball. Each day I will post 4 games/spreads/O/U that I like and provide commentary on each. Last year I did quite well and look to improve this year and help others make some bank!

Go Boilers!!!
