Best bet for tomorrow goes in the NIT
Take Maryland +5 while it lasts. More than likely SU will be without the heart and soul of their team tomorrow Jonny Flynn. He injured his back a week ago against Villanova. It was so bad that he left the Garden in a wheelchair. Since then, he had not practiced a day. Tough kid that he is, he gave it a go on Tuesday against Robert Morris. Well, after his first shot, he came out of the game and did not play another minute. Boeheim has publicly stated that Flynn will not play unless he is cleared by medical staff. Even if he does play, what kind of legs will he have without a week of cardio, and how awkward will he be. Syracuse is not deep enough to handle this type of loss as Flynn was playing 40 a game every game. Scoop jardine is too young and inexperienced to make up for the likely absence of Flynn. SU has had an injury riddled year, as an alum, I know, and I'm guessing it is time to cut the losses. Flynn is too valuable to risk. Maryland has two excellent seniors in the low post and they already proved at Minnesota that they aren't ready to give the season up just yet. IMO, the wrong team is favored in this spot. I'd play the ML if it was available but you can't beat the five and it is sure to go down.
