Big 10 - Who's In, Who's Out?? - Discuss

Who ya got?

I think the Big 10 gets 6 teams, with either Minnesota or Northwestern just making the cut. Minnesota seems most likely to me - huge home game vs. Purdue coming up and road trip to Champaign will determine their fate.

Big Ten Conference

LOCKS TO BE IN:
Michigan State 11-3 21-6
Purdue 10-3 22-3
Ohio State 10-4 20-7
Wisconsin 9-4 19-6

SHOULD BE IN:
Illinois 9-4 17-9

ON THE BUBBLE:
Michigan 6-7 13-12 - I think they're out
Northwestern 6-8 17-9 - Loss to Penn State last night really hurt
Minnesota 5-7 14-10 - Tubby's crew most likely to pick up 6th bid

BUBBLE BURST, GOTTA WIN CONFERENCE TOURNEY:
Indiana 3-10 9-16
Iowa 3-11 9-18
Penn State 1-12 9-16

One of the bubble teams could have a good tourney, but Big 10 might only get 5. Minny has to beat Wisky tonight to even have a shot and I am not confident of that happening

5 Big Ten teams in this year. No way more than that get in. Illinois isn't even a lock if they falter down the stretch.

Big 10 has 4 teams capable of making Elite 8, IMO........

As Jay Bilas says the Big 10 always outperforms everyone's expectations in the tourney

This year will be no different. The public perception of the quality of the Big 10 gives them some betting line advantage in some matchups in the tourney IMO.

Pac10 terrible this year may open up a bid or two. ACC down too. Big 10 is tough this year.

Could be as little as 4 if Illinois struggles with the remained of their schedule. MN would have to win out and win at least one B10 tourney game (chance of this happening <5%).

The Northwestern loss last night is brutal given, with the exception of a road game at Wisconsin this weekend, they have a pretty easy schedule remaining. I could see them playing their way back if they win 4 of 5 remaining and win at least 1 big ten tourney game.
