Big East over rated?

Just wanting to know how good the Big East really is. Other than UConn, they do not have any quality wins outside the conference. UConn does have wins against Texas and Kentucky, granted these were early but none the less big wins. If the BE's other teams do have a top 25 win those teams were in and out of the top 25 all season. I just wanted to know what others think of this conference. They are beating up on themselves and IMO this conference will have most of their teams out of the "big dance" before the second week. I know I will not trust any of these teams to cover their games in tourny play.

I respectfully disagree. Teams like Pitt, UConn, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Louisville and St. John's are ALL capable of making runs into the Sweet 16 (and further). Watch out for the Irish. Damn good team.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I knew there were a few more wins here, ie Texas, Purdue, Vandy and Wis, but IMO Gonazaga, Utah St, UCLA, Butler, ODU, Wofford, Michigan, Mich St are not quality teams. They do have winning records in their conferences but definitely wanta be filler teams for the tourny. Not sure if any of them could win it all. So 11 teams with a handful of quality wins, just think this conference is not as strong or as deep as the media portrays. I will RECANT everything if even one of these teams makes it to the final four.

Point taken Bufford but take a look at the 10 game stretch that St John's played and name another team that ran a gauntlet like this one

That is the Big East, not many nights off in this conference

@ WV
@ Prov
G-town
@ ND
'Cuse
ND
@ L'ville
Cincy
@ G-Town
Duke

This year is put up or shut up for the Big East in my opinion. Every year all you hear is how great the conference is, but they haven't won or even appeared in the national title game since 2004. That is a long stretch for the "supposed" best conference in college hoops every year. Getting 11 teams this year, we will see what happens.

If you put San Diego State in the Big East, they would be about 20-10 instead of 28-2.

I trust kenpom the most, his model is the best

http://kenpom.com/conf.php?c=B10

he shows the big ten #1, however its real close, the big east has depaul and south florida bringing their average down significantly

and they were all capable of making runs last year...... I agree though with ya Keith. The league seems pretty strong obviously and Notre Dame is legit! Pitt has really scared me all year. I dont trust them. They could lose pretty early. My two favs in this conference are the Irish and the Johnnies. The Johnnies have all kinds of seniors and experience. Lville is solid as well... Anytime you get 11 teams in the dance thats saying good things, but Bufford has a good point and these teams are beating up on each other. The Johnnies knocked off Duke which was impressive. They kicked there ass. That doesnt happen much to Coach K. Who knows.. Gonna be a great year. Not too many stand out teams really. OSU could go down early. There not going to shoot 93 percent from 3 pt. line every game.. This is a team that could lose in the 2nd round... Gonna be a good one. I still think Michigan will win the whole effin thing! I will donate yall my 50 bucks in the Bracket and Just take Michigan and Florida in the title if there on diff. ends.

There are just no great teams in college basketball that stand out
head and shoulders over the rest. Each of the top teams has
flaws that make them all vulnerable.

Should be the funnest March Madness in some time

Have a feeling some real darkhorse could make the Final 4 this year.
Who is that? I guess we will find out soon
