Big East - Who's In and Who's Out?? - Discuss

Who ya got??

Who makes it to the Big Dance from the Big East? Use whatever criteria you choose for determining who's in and who's out.

My guesses are below, I think the Big East gets at least 7, probably 8 teams in. There will likely be a couple extra at-large bids for the power conferences this year because of the demise of the PAC-10:

Big East Conference

LOCKS TO BE IN:
Syracuse 11-2 24-2
Villanova 11-2 22-3
West Virginia 9-4 20-5

SHOULD BE IN:
Pittsburgh 8-4 19-6
Georgetown 8-5 18-6
Louisville 8-5 17-9

ON THE BUBBLE:
Marquette 7-5 16-8 - semi-favorable schedule - I think they're in
South Florida 6-7 16-9 - favorable schedule - could be 8th team
Seton Hall 6-7 15-9 - semi-favorable schedule - could be 8th team
Cincinnati 6-7 15-10 - brutal remaining schedule
Notre Dame 6-8 17-10 - tough remaining schedule
Connecticut 5-8 15-11 - tough remaining schedule

BUBBLE BURST, GOTTA WIN THE CONFERENCE TOURNEY:
Rutgers 4-9 14-12
St. John's 4-9 14-11
Providence 4-10 12-14
DePaul 1-12 8-17

Think you have to have a winning conference record to be considered

Think Marquette makes it, big one tonight

Unless they have a nice tourney run, Cincy and U Conn are not going to make it.

Think Seton Hall or South Florida makes it, probably not both

Yep, agree, think Marquette gets the 7th bid, and I believe there will be an 8th team. Looks like USF has a really favorable schedule - they're my choice for the 8th slot. ND sure could've used that Louisville game last night........

Lunardi has ND in as of today, and UConn still in. 9 teams from the Big East on his bracket. Don't see it, personally. 8 max...........

So, we can all agree that we can move ND off the bubble into LOCK status?
