Well gang we have new president, and his name is Obama. I am really looking for some really big changes from this man. I don't mean to sound naive, I generally do not trust politicians most of the time but pres Obama has no room for foolish self-serving mistakes because the country is watching and his actions could either open the door or shut it on future candidates of a minority races.
I think he is in the same boat that jackie robinson was in, and I have a feeling he will serve us well. I am sure he will make some mistakes but nobody is perfect, that said I expect him to give some equality to the middle class and the poor citizens of this country.
I am also happy to have witnessed that our country has cleared another hurdle in the fight against racial segregation. In 8 years we may see a mexican american or someone of asian origin run for president. America has come a long way from the 50's & 60's when racism and segregation was the norm in alot of communities. As a country we lost alot of good people who were trying to break through those barriers, like Dr king and JFK, ect.
