Butler/ODU Thoughts

at first glance i did like ODU but Butler has come on lately.


also ODU weakness on defense is their 3 point shooting defense. I noticed this when they played in bracketbusters against cleveland state, they let Clev St shoot alot of open looks in that game and norris cole went off from 3, just the rest of the Clev St couldnt convert.


Butler has some really good 3 point shooters in shelvin mack, shawn vanzant, zach hahn. matt howard can also hit the 3 ball.


I have a feeling while ODU is a trendy pick, don't discount out butler here.

If ODU doesn't pick it up on the perimeter defense they will most likely lose. They are aware that Mack will crush them with 3's if they dont keep someone in his face all game.
This is one bad-ass D otherwise and will adjust and I think they are capable of stepping it up in that area and will get the win ( even though it is trendy) gl with your plays today olg

I like ODU alot but the more i am reading about this matchup, the more i like butler. ODU basically begs you to shoot the 3 ball, they pack up their zone inside and i think butler 3's rain today.

I have been convincing myself all week that ODU, and Xavier (tomorrow) are going to make some noise in the tourney. I already bet them both fairly large and the more I read the more I second guess. I still feel confident that ODU wins but concede it is going to be one hell of a game.
I have ODU taking out my Pitt Panthers on my brackets so if I felt that strongly when I did them, I have to stick to my gut. I am nervous.

i have not yet made a play on this game, but if i dont i will root for ODU. i do like that team alot, think they can cause pitt alot of trouble if they go through. but man butler has poured it on lately as well.

they went from getting blown out twice to UWM and then smacking them in the tourney final at UWM. not too shabby and ODU have just been smoking everyone since the George Mason game. its a shame that these two had to play each other.

didn't end up playing. but i think we both thought it would be a tight game which it was.
