If they really really really wanted to win the game, all they had to do was kill the clock in EVERY possession.

10 minutes left and probably 10 or 11 possessions.
Even if they don't score any points.....Tigers would need to make EVERY shot to overcome that 20 pt deficit.

They did NOT want to win the game.
