College hoops three pack

Wright State+5
Cincinnati will be without star center Yancy Gates as well as three other major contributing players, two of which play double digit minutes per game in the front court due to suspensions stemming from the fight with Xavier last weekend. This will leave the Bearcats with just five players that are currently averaging more than 10 minutes per game, one of which Jaquon Parker has played just one game since returning from injury.

Wright State got off to a slow start to the season but their schedule was brutal with games at Ohio State and at Florida. The Raiders are only 2-3 in their lat five games but two of the losses have were by two points to conference favorite Cleveland State and four points to Charlotte.

Cincinnati will be thin in the front court which is the strength of Wright State's team. Wright State is 17th nationally in rebounding despite a tough schedule and 59th nationally out of around 350 teams in field goal percentage. Look for Wright State to pound the ball inside early and often to take advantage of the void left in the middle by suspended players.

South Florida+2

USF point guard Augustus Gilchrist is finally healthy and he looks like his old self again which is good news for Bulls backers. Gilchrist has played in two straight games since returning from injury and has scored 20 points in those two games and appears to have gotten his game legs back.

Auburn is without five players that were expected to be part of their rotation. They are 4-1 on the season but got smoked the only time they played anybody this season. They have four cupcake wins and lost to Seton Hall by 22 points.

Look for USF to exploit their advantages in the back court and win this game outright as a small underdog.

Denver-3

The Pioneers are off to a red hot 6-2 start to the season which includes wins over Southern Miss, Saint Mary's and Utah State. They return the core of last season's team and are deep and experienced. Senior guard Brian Stafford is averaging 14.8 points per game and sophomore wing man Chris Udofia is rapidly establishing himself as one of the premier scorers in the Sun Belt. Udofia leads the team in assists per game despite playing small forward and is averaging 14.1 points and dishing out over three assists per game.

Northern Colorado lost most last season's squad and is in rebuilding mode. They started the season 0-4 and only one of those games were as close as eight points differential. They have gone 3-1 in their last four games but two of those games were against non Division I opponents and the other two games were against Western Carolina and Southern University.

Denver just brings too much firepower and experience to this game and Northern Colorado will be hard pressed to keep it close. Look for Denver to jump on Northern Colorado early and cruise to an easy victory.
