Stmary's did the same thing last year of year before.
Their conference tourney ends so soon that they anticipated being in post season and didn't want a 400 day lay off so they are playing this game to stay game sharp. 11 days is a long time to go without playing

Weber St. needs the game to ensure a medical redshirt for its star Damian Lillard. The Gael's are on the NCAA bubble but want the game to avoid being rusty in case they get an invite. St.Mary's has done this in the past and this is allowed by NCAA.

wondered same thing. would be funny if St. Mary's lost and missed NCAA because of it. Guessing both teams didn't want 7-10 days off before the tournament.
