Friday the 13th Plays !! A Day/Night Four-Pack !

first the re-cap. Went 2-1 with the official plays (winning with Tulsa and Dayton, and losing with UTEP in OT). Also won with Tulane, but it wasn't an "official" play, so I wasn't going to count it. But then I thought: "why the hell not ?" I posted it and I played it, so I am counting it. So it was a 3-1 day. Overall I am now 17-6-1 for my last 24

I have 4 plays that I really like today, so let's get to it:

My best bet of the day is Florida State -5.5 to Georgia Tech. Let's face it, Ga. Tech is a lousy team that is going to come out flat today after their huge upset of Clemson yesterday. Ga. Tech was 11-18 on the year (9-16 ATS), with an RPI of 152. They shoot a lousy 62.5% from the stripe. Meanwhile, the Seminoles are 23-8 on the year (17-7 ATS) with an RPI of 16. I think they still need another convincing win to ensure a trip to the Big Dance. They shoot a solid 72.5% from the stripe. The 'Noles get that big win today against a flat Ga. Tech team.

I also like Buffalo tonight to send a lousy Ball State team packing. I will lay the 7.5 with the Bulls. They are 20-10 on the year with an RPI of 94. They have revenge in mind, as they lost to this shitty Ball State team by 2 on 2/15. How bad is Ball State ? Well, they went 14-16 on the year, but with an RPI of 271 !! And they shoot a pathetic 60.4% from the stripe. Buffalo wins this one by double digits.

I also like Villanova +4.5 from Louisville tonight. 'Nova (25-6 on the year)had a lucky win yesterday over a good Marquette team, while Louisville coasted against a lousy Providence team. Louisville beat 'Nova earlier this year (on 1/10) by only 1 point. 'Nova shoots a very solid 73.8% from the stripe, while Louisville shoots a lousy 64.4% from the line. This will be a close game--I want the team that MAKES its free throws.

Finally, my gut feeling play today is Minnesota +6.5 from Michigan State. Yes the Spartans are good. But so are the Gophers. 22-9 on the year with an RPI of 40. They have some serious revenge in mind, as not only did they lose to Mich. State by 12 on 12/31, but they got absolutely throttled by them on 2/14, losing by 29 points. No doubt they remember that. Last but not least, while the Spartans shoot a decent 69% from the line, the Gophers are better--shooting 72.4% from the stripe. I believe this one also comes down to the last shot.

Friday the 13th's plays are: Florida State -5.5; Buffalo -7.5; Villanova +4.5; and Minnesota +6.5.

I understand the concern, but consider this. Fla. State only beat them by 4 on 2/5, and Ga. Tech is coming off a beating of Clemson (who I believe was a top 10 team). The line opened at 4.5 and has steamed up to 5.5. Now, if it had gone the other way, I would be more concerned.
