Friday to get out of the Slump!

Preface this with, I have been a slump to end all slumps. Like the gamble that picking games is, slumps are a fact, the ups ands downs are inevitable. This slump has lasted two weeks and is starting to annoy me greatly. Tonight is the night I break out!!!!

You may look at the teams these teams have lost to and think that Winthrop has the better wins. They do, having beaten Georgia Tech and Miami. davidson has losses to NC State, Charlotte and Western Michigan. The Western Michigan one stands out, but the zoo is a tough place to play. Look closer and Davidson took UNC and Duke down to the wire. They have played a tougher schedule and early on it was relentless. It is similar to what John Cheney did with Temple, and by seasons end his teams were next to impossible to play against.
This game to me comes down to one thing, Free throw shooting. Winthrop is shooting 56% from the line. I do not care who you are, except Memphis, you are not beating good teams like that. Winthrop has great defensive statistics, but they play no one, against BCS teams they have played they have given up 73, 54, 70, 76, 70. They can be scored on, and I think Davidson is the best offensive team they will have played. They are also going against the best player they have faced this year in Curry, who like his daddy can shoot from anywhere against anyone. this is not the same Winthrop team as in years past, and although still good, I feel Davidson matches up better overall in all key facets of the game. This game comes down to offense and free throw shooting, Davidson is superior in both and playing on the road means nothing to them. I do not think this game will be that close and Davidson wins by double digits.
