Gaudio out at Wake
Does seem like this team tended to collapse in the 2nd half under the guy. Just crazy to think you only get three years especially given the circumstances when he took over. Will definately be interesting to see the caliber of coach they bring in.

sucks, seemed like a good coach. had some success in the best conf in the country.
taking over for Prosser was tough, but he will land somewhere else... when NCAA goes to 96 teams the coaches benefit the most. they can say they made the tourney and it should save their jobs

you would think that but Gaudio pretty much got canned due to his lack of tournament success.
I don't think changing the field size will save more jobs. They will just be judged at how many first rd byes they are getting and record in the tournament. Plus now the coaches that aren't making the NCAA will have that much more pressure on them.

good move by wake... g not a very good coach at all IMO... actually stinks

I think somebody had to have something on the guy. Yeah, he didn't have much tournament success, but his record was good and why wouldn't they just fire him right after the loss. Had they done that, it would have given them a chance to interview some guys at the Final Four. That is usually the easiest way for high profile coaches to slip in and out of an interview without anyone really knowing about it. I think this was a fishy firing.
