Get rid of homecourt

Nearly every single region the top 4 seeds are all left.........get rid of the damn home court advantage and just throw these teams anywhere and let the 8 teams from the same part of the bracket play in the same gym for 1 day like they used to.....upsets were a part of the game and thats why this event gained so much notoriety........im sick of the team that should win win almost every game.

at the end of the day the casual fans want to see duke/unc, the television station want to see dunk/unc..why would they change that? Who would want to watch sienna vs cleveland st? Yea its exciting at the moment but the ncaa's best interest are for the top teams to move on..

unless the entire tournament was played in the same venue

which obv would take way too long, then by nature you cannot get a total true neutral court...

lower seeds would beat higher seeds at the same rate whether they are closer to home or not I think

and playing close to home is a priviledge of being a top seed and reward for the regular season

it isnt start over tournament time

You are both right.....part of it is they want to fill the arenas and part of it is they want the better teams for the ratings but overall it just isnt fair to the likes of LSU, OK St, Texas and the likes who have to play in front of hostile crowds when the game should be on a neutral court.....Purdue had to play Washington in Portland....how is that fair?

Pod system is just trying to get all teams closer to home rather then random

pac 10 had all their teams play out east...shit happens

Reason I brought this up is I filled out 3 brackets and my chalk bracket is at the top of the standing along with the other chalk brackets......part of the lure of this tourney was watching the little team kill the big team but that just isnt the case......these smaller schools can hang around but the crowd is pro favorite its sickening.....just let them play home games then like they do with the women and the NIT....reason they do it with those events is because they know nobody would show up if they played offsite.

Homecourt or no homecourt plenty of underdogs have had a shot to win the game and couldnt keep leads/pull through in the last 3-5 minutes. at that point homecourt means nothing because most people in the stadium are pulling for the dog to pull through. These games ie Texas/Duke could have gone either way but in the end the better team pulls it out and in my personnel opinion having "homecourt" hasnt made much of a difference

Really a double edged sword. Upsets are fun to watch, but match ups get better as you go through the tournament when chalk wins. Sorry but as fun as it was to watch George Mason make it to the Final 4, them getting crushed by Florida by 15 points wasn't very fun to watch.

Texas wasn't exactly facing a hostile crowd. Pretty much every Carolina fan in the joint was rooting for them. The "Texas Fight" cheer was loud enough to be easily heard on TV, and there weren't enough Horn fans there for that to happen.

I've been to tourney sites before and after the pod system was implemented, and it hasn't changed the atmosphere much at all. 1 and 2 seeds are still generally rooted against by everybody in the building except their own fans.
