How lame is this bracket scoring system?

I didnt read the scoring system because every single one i've played is basically the same...except this one.

Whatever the value of the seed of the winning team is the points you get. And there is no scoring based on round...so basically you could pick the winner of the whole thing and if it is a 1 seed, you will get 6 less points total than a 12 seed winning 1 game in the first round lol. That is basically the stupidest shit i've ever heard of...there is no value in actually having a correct final 4. All you have to do is pick all underdogs...pretty ****in retarded if you ask me

i have seen that bracket but what happens is if a 12 seed wins in round one you get 12 points, then if the 12 seed wins in round 2 you get 24 points, its kinda crazy

thats not how this one works...its the seed value is points, no multiplier. i think it is retarded. you could get none of the final 4 right and still win...what is the point of that? shows no skill at all

on 1 bracket I'm in, we used a different system. Any upset you pick you get the seed value as a "bonus". 12 beats 5 you get 7 pts. But we do give pts. for each round. This year we scored 1 for 1st round, 2 for 2nd round & so on. Like this system but next year I think we may go exponentially for rounds to add more value to correct picks.

yea i can live with any kind of increasing value...but i mean cmon...flat points for each round? the point of the bracket is to pick the final 4 and winner. Not how many fluke upsets you can get right in rounds 1 and 2

you get more points the more ballzy you are! It takes a real man to put Cornell vs. Northern Iowa for the NCAA Championship and they should be rewarded more for that if it happens then rewarding everyone the same for picking Cuse vs. UK don't you think?

yea you should be rewarded if it happens, not if it doesnt...and not if the 4 teams you have making the final 4 dont get there

I see what you are saying.

I like the scoring by seed system but it does have its flaws.

I'd like to see you get negative points for having G-town and Kansas since they lost so early. Then again that would make people want to pick even more upsets. Hard to make a contest where everyone feels comfortable with its structure.

The skill comes in reading the rules. Try it next time before going in blind! Only one person to blame here and it's not the structure
