How Much Would You Hedge--If At All ?

at the start of the tournament I put down 250 on NC to win it all. Pays 813 (I did also have a similar play on UConn but that obviously lost). Moneyline play on Michigan State tonight is +300.

I was thinking of simply putting down 100 on the Spartans, to ensure a return of either 713 or 50 (at the worst). I think that makes the most sense. And then root for the Tar Heels to win.

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I would agree, because your bet has no spread involved.

Betting at least another $100 will get you at least your money back ($250) if MSU wins.

Depends how strong you feel about State, me personally I'd be happy sitting on UNC S/U

yes. Although my local won't have the moneyline, just the spread.

that's what I'm thinking---because I just want to have to root for North Carolina (who I believe to be the better team) to win straight up, and still make something even if Michigan State should pull off the upset.

Do you mean to say that your book would cut you off for making a perfectly legitimate wager? I would be looking for a new book.

I would wager enough on MSU to make up any losses you may have had, and still show a profit. I also think that UNC wins out right, but it certainly would not be a shocker to see MSU cover the spread, or win outright.

not the typical book Seanie. They'll tell me to take my business elsewhere.

You gonna give me a renewing credit line each week; and pay me in cash--here in NY, on Monday ???? Toll free or internet access. All the benefits of an on-line AND a local.

Not worth pissing them off to win 2 bets on 1 game.

see my response to Seanie. This is not the typical book. Too many major advantages for me to jeopardize here.
