I am going to stick my neck out here....

and say Derrick Rose has a bad game. He was a non-factor early in the year, and I have some hunch that he is going to fail tonight.

I'll either look like an idiot or a genius, but I guess that is how these things go I guess.

KU straight up, of course.

It's only half time, and I don't want to do any jinxing, but Derrick Rose isn't quite the hype he's been made to be. He was very, very average in the first half of the season and did not start playing well until after the Tennessee lost.

He's still very young, and it shows. Saying "I knew we were gonna win" after the UCLA game was low class. He is still plenty wet behind the ears.

With that being said, He has the potential to be a generational type point guard if he can become a consistent player. He reminds me of Chris Paul but just a little quicker. Not quite the assist machine Paul is yet but that will be developed eventually.

We're worried about tonight though, and it appears he didn't prepare mentally for this game, which is what I was suspecting.

i'd just say that he's a true freshman on a team that blew out a ton of teams they played in the 1st half of the season and only lost once on the year. have to take into account all the blowouts and there were plenty of games where he only took 8 shots when looking at his stats. also have to take into account that he's turned it on when it counts (as a true freshman) in the tourney and has gotten his team this far.

as far as the overhyping portion of it, that's not his fault. like booing kwame brown for being such a bust. brown had nothing to do with being picked #1. JMO.

bank another one off the back board falling away. the kid has talent, but the media has blown it way out of proportion, and trust me when I say he's been a tournament phenom. He was not that good in the regular season.

rose is being hyped almost purely on potential. his upside is unlimited.

we'll see. i hate potential. I have followed college athletics far too long to realize potential means nothing. I'll believe it when I see it.

Bad first half. Good second half.

I'll call it a draw.

KU still got the W though :]

D. Rose is still over hyped too :]
